Beverly Preston is a USA Today bestselling author of contemporary romance. She writes emotionally rich and sinfully sexy stories about the ultimate alpha good guy; the kind of man you want to drag you to bed and put a ring on your finger. She also has a passion for strong, humorous, female characters and stories ingrained in a solid sense of family and loyalty.

Beverly woke up one morning from a horrible dream that her husband had died and she was in Bora Bora saying her goodbyes. After weeks of worry and torment, she realized it was simply a bad dream and her husband wasn’t going anywhere. However, she still thought about that tiny fragment of a dream for months before turning it into No More Wasted Time.

She lives in Las Vegas with her husband, four kids, and two golden retrievers. If she’s not spinning richly emotional stories, you’ll find her on her spin bike.

Oh my goodness. I’ve waited and waited for Shayla’s Story. It was completely and totally worth the wait! You’re are such a talented writer. Shayla’s Story was a perfect continuation of NMWT. Just as I fell in love with Tom, I fell immediately in love with John. I had all the emotions reading Shayla’s Story. You had me from page 1!!! Great job! I can’t wait for more!

Loved this book. Hate all the cat and mouse, trust not trust angst in many of the romance books today. You went right to it and allowed your characters to live and breathe. Have read this book three times. Very much enjoyed the personalities if all the characters

    • Good morning, Jeane! What a great start for my day! 🙂 So happy you’re falling in love with The Family and I hope you enjoy Shayla’s Story too. Hope you’re having a wonderful Sunday! – Beverly

I’ve just finished Shayla’s story after reading NMWT and they were both awesome. You held my attention from the first page till the end of both books. I’m looking forward to more of the family. I really can’t wait for JC’s story. Lol

    • Hi Michele! Woo hoo! So glad you you’re falling in love with The Family! I’m just diving into Tracy’s book, The Perfect Someday. She and Vincent are going to heat the pages in Tuscany! JC’s book is already written (not published yet of course) and I don’t want to be a total tease, but you are gonna LOVE it! I’m always looking for new reviews to post on FB from Amazon if you have an extra minute. Thanks for stopping by! – Beverly 🙂

I just read No More Wasted Time last night. I loved it! I kept thinking it was going to end too soon like so many other books seem to do. You didn’t make me feel this way though with this book. It was the perfect length with a great ending. I was still sorry it was over but I didn’t feel cheated in some way. I reallt felt like I knew these characters. It was a great story. I can’t wait to read more of your work now.

    • Hi Renee! So glad you loved NMWT! You’ll be happy to know the story doesn’t end there. You’ll see more of Tess and Tom plus fall in love with the rest of The Mathews/Clemmins Family as they weave throughout the series. Book two, Shayla’s Story is available now and books three and four will be out this winter. Thanks for stopping by – Beverly 🙂

  17. christine

    Hi Beverly!
I just finished No More Wasted Time and loved the story! I really enjoyed how Tess & Tom were in their 40’s, something I can relate too! I felt the story flowed perfectly and I LOVED the ending too! I am all set to read about Shayla next but just had to share with you how much I enjoyed this book!
    Thank you!
    Christine 🙂

    • Hi Christine! I’m getting a lot of love from readers for Tess and Tom being in their forties! I had no idea their age would draw in so many women and I love it!!! Thank you for taking the time to stop by and I hope you enjoy Shayla’s Story. – Beverly 🙂

  18. Sally

Loved this book, I can’t tell you how many times I cried with Tess… Can’t wait to read more it’s almost like sitting on the edge if your seat waiting and hoping that they get “happily ever after”!

  19. bela

Dear Ms Preston, You are a very mean woman! How could you write such beautiful, heart warming books then leave us hanging?!?!?! J/K

I have loved and recommended NMWT so many times to so many people and they have all loved it. I had preordered Shaylas story and finally found time to read it. I Just dont know how you could create a character that could upstage Tom. WOW I LOVED Shaylas story! ….oh and the ending…not nice, cant tell if it is a joke or not. I think its cruel you are making us wait til Spring of 2014…I want more!!!! PLEASE PLEASE bring them out early… they would make great xmas presents 😉

Keep writing and we will keep reading
    Bela

    • You’re the best, Bela! I loved reading this! I’m working hard to get The Perfect Someday out this winter and you’ll be happy to know book four is already written and waiting it’s turn in line to be released.
Happy reading and thanks for making my day! – Beverly

  20. Ginny

I just finished Shayla’s Story and absolutely loved it. After NMWT, I didn’t think it could get any better but you overdid it. Now I don’t know who is my favorite, Tommy or John. They are both such loving hunks. And the women they chose were perfect for them. I really enjoyed NMWT because it was about an older couple and being an older person, it is nice to read books about couples who find each other later in life. And Shayla’s Story was just great. It showed that age didn’t really matter if you were “meant to be”. Can’t wait for Tracy’s and JC’s book. Great job in writing Beverly. Looking forward to you next books!

    • Tommy or John? Tough choice. 😉 Fair warning…it is only going to get more difficult. lol Vincent is making my turn my A/C down as we speak and Reed Rider from book four…well that’s all I can even say about Reed! The man is going to make women swoon! 😉
I’m so glad you’re falling in love with The Family, Ginny! Thank You so much for leaving a review on Amazon. xx Beverly

  21. I just found your books and am so thrilled! I read Tom and Tess’s story in a day and I have just started John and Shayla’s story! They are wonderful! I can’t wait to read about the rest of the family.

  22. Geri

I so enjoyed both of these books. I read one right after the other and could not put them down. I can’t wait for more about the Clemmins-Matthews family!

  23. Cristina

I’d like to say that I absolutely loved “No more Wasted Time”. Mostlu because it is a complete book. Sometimes when we read a book and get to the end we feel more could have been said. Reading this one made me feel like I knew their complete story. I just loved it. When I finished I went back to read a few bits I loved. Now I have to read Shayla’s story 🙂

  24. Christi

I really enjoyed reading No More Wasted Time. I couldn’t put it down.

    Beverly,

    I loved the whole series,.
    Kathe

  46. Shirley Stephenson

    Hi Beverly,
OMG where to start, the Mathew sreies was unbelievably fantastic! The rollercoaster ride covering every possible emotion, hope, love, laughter, anger, frustration, joy, pain, relief and so on. You really draw your reader into the characters life and we get to know them inside and out but I have to admit the story of JC really blew my mind. I have the series on my kindle and kept going back to the point where Tom is standing at her door with the bunch of sunflowers – it just grabbed my heart strings and pulled to breaking point – saying no more to prevent plot spoilers but if i wore one, i’d take my hat off to you honey, really powerful and emotional storyline and to read that you’ve experienced that personally and then gone on to write about it is absoloutely amazing.
What more can I say but THANK YOU XXXXX

    • Hi Shirley,
Thank you for stopping by and I’m so glad you’ve fallen in love with The Family. The series continues with all your favorite Mathews family members now taking a back seat while some of the secondary characters you met throughout the series now get their own stories. Hope you enjoy and as always…happy reading!
      Beverly

  47. I immensely enjoyed your book, “No More Wasted Time”. It was so great to read a very romantic love story about a couple in their 40’s instead of a couple in their 20’s. I have reread your book a few times and I love it more every time I read it. Thank you for a fantastic story and book!!!

  48. Kathy Rey

I loved the whole series. Read it all in a week. I found them by chance and couldnt put them down. I fell in love with the fatherly figure of Tom and the brotherly protector of John. Lots of happy tears. And of course the happly ever after. Looking forward to your next one. Thank you for showing me that there is still love out there even when we least expect. After 12 years divorced and raising 3 amazing young adults I believe there is a love waiting for me but the time has not been right. Things happen for reasons. I’ve always been a true believer of that. ❤

  49. Debbie

Just heard about the article in review journal about your daughter. So glad she beat the odds. I’ve been thinking of all of you lately and wondering how she’s doing.

Also do you have another book in the works. I looked for you at Art in the Park last weekend. As that is where I first met you.
